Damn straight.

Dean Weidner and company is among the most overbearing property management firm I have ever had the displeasure of putting up with.

They've been out of control for some time now. I'm glad that someone found an attorney that wasn't afraid of Dean Weidner. Congratulations, Katina. Who was your attorney?
AKReflex

James Davis. Cool. Have to give this guy a call.

Isn't it a bit pathetic that lawyers are setting the late fees for Weidner Services? I wonder what the company had to recover in lost time for employees to chase down losers for the rent... so they can get the mortgage paid. Sounds like someone was just looking to sue a man with some money!
AKReflex

Your kidding right?

Weidner doesn't hold mortgages on their properties. They own most of them free and clear. If you've ever worked for Weidner, you'd understand.
Former Tenant

It is about time Weidner is shown that they are not the law! Especially the Alpine Apts. in Anchorage. The "we really don't care about you" look, and tone of voice they would talk to you in, was the only thing they ever gave away for free, without tacking on a $100-$200 fee on. And Talk about rude! I will never, repeat, ever rent from a Weidner apt again, and will gladly discourage others from making that mistake.
I could go on and on, and I only lived there for six months!

Hell yeah they owe us some money. I wonder why we only get 150 dollars back from our security deposit when we put in 400 dollars. That is crooked. Then when we move out, they charge outrageous amounts of money to clean the place up even when you tried your best. They want you to buy new blinds, get the carpet PROFESSIONALLY done which costs hundreds of dollars, and they even want you to buy brand new drip pans for the ovens. Then if you don't do all of the above, only 150 of 400 of your security deposit goes to that leaving us with 700 dollar bills in the end.

We are doing a new class action against Weidner for overcharging tenants' security deposits. If this happened to you please feel free to contact us at northernjusticeproject@yahoo.c om.

SOMEONE NEEDS TO CHALLENGE HIM IN COLORADO WHERE HE IS A SLUM LORD ON THE MAKE. HE BUYS PROPERTY AND DOES NOT SPEND A DIME ON IT UNLESS HE IS ABLE TO GET THE TAX BREAK. IF YOU LIVE ON A PROPERTY HE HAS OWNED OVER A YEAR BE PREPARED FOR IT TO GO DOWN HILL. HE HATES AMENITIES SUCH AS POOLS/pLAYGROUNDS ETC AND AND REFUSES TO PAY FOR UPGRADED LIGHTING WHICH IS A SAFETY CONCERN. HE RIPS OFF HIS RESIDENTS WITH VELOCITY HIS CHARGEBACK 3RD PARTY BILLING COMPANY AND ALTHOUGH MAKINHG MONEY ON UTILITIES IS ILLEGAL HE MAKES QUIET THE PROFIT. HE CUTS CORNERS AND WHILE HE HAS TWO JETS, YACHT, MANSIONS(S) REFUSES TO ALLOW TECHNOLOGY OR INOVATION INTO HIS INVESTMENTS. YOU SHOULD SEE WHAT IS REQUIRED OF THE MANAGERS TO CHARGE AT MOVE-OUT. THEY HAVE TO COLLECT ALL 100% OF THE CHARGES AT MOVE-OUT SO THEY INCUR NO COST TO TURN A UNIT. THIS IS REDICULOUS SO YOU CAN KISS YOUR DEPOSIT GOOD-BYE. PLEASE SOMEONE ON ONE OF HIS PROPERTIES TAKE HIM TO THE CLEANERS. HIS LEASE IS SO DATED AND DOES NOT COVER MANY OF THE ITEMS HE CHARGES FOR SO AN ATTORNEY WOULD HAVE A FIELD DAY!

Why doesn't the state or city officials do something? Do they care that half the rentals in Anchorage are ripping off people who can't afford it. Or do they just want to keep us poor?

homeless in Alaska

Yes, the name is well known. Is the Investor big, who knows, and who cares. We all got to make a living. Seems to me that on the deposit side the company is within the guidelines of poverty.
If not interested in a trashy place, run like Hell.
If its
low income , or similar, whatever, wherever however, irregardless, then its the tenants job km make notes, drive a hard action with management till you get results, wake the Investor up, petition the property, make it a habit to have to report to every agency under the muni, state. And so on. Maybe the funding is there, yet the property managers get the percentage they save with maintance performance. Who knows, and who cares.
I know one thing his
investments are all in the shithole property of the Anchorage muni and the Muni has decided to dump sewage waste carefree, so therefore this gentleman has a huge lawsuit, against the Mere fact that his units age twice as fast as the speed of light and simple and plain, deteriorate quick. Let's face it, if you really were renting a old place, by golly it must be a housing place. Now, its that company itself that has to dictate to the property owner what the Hell they need, and the rules. Since housing is very bias, I know for a fact that so is the contracts, between housing and property owners. I also know with the on and off of reality, the owner has an investment. I think this is a stock fIrm. It's not so clear, but I figure a effort to raise wages, solidify Law, try to FIX duelheaded messes, would be the energy , not shaking up a Stock company that has been around for so long, theses on man that dent that gang, only cause stupid crisis, and a class action does not ever ever favor anyone but the attorney. It's all about the economy, the low wages, the banks and their bias action, the course of action after the policy had already been broken, and fruitful to the needy, add contingent on military family for due cause.
